Best Bilingual Idaho Photographer/Videographer for Small Mountain weddings and Elopements
Are you thinking about hiring a videographer for your wedding day but you’re still on the fence? This post will respond to a few questions about hybrid photography/videography in Idaho that may help you make the decision for your small mountain wedding or Idaho elopement.
What is hybrid photography/videography?
Simply put, hybrid photo/video is an integrated system using both mediums to tell your story in one cohesive narrative.
What does hybrid photo/video feel like?
For me, being in front of the lens for hybrid photo/video feels very similarly to how it feels for photos alone. My style is a mix. One: gently guided/prompted photo and video to help orchestrate moments where your authentic connection shines. Two: truly candid moments that cannot be planned for - the emotion and connection of the day takes center stage.
How is it different than hiring a separate vendor for videography?
Hybrid photo/video is different than hiring a separate vendor for a few reasons:
Hybrid photo/video helps to prevent conflicting client experiences with multiple vendors. When hiring two separate vendors you run the risk of not only your photo gallery and video contrasting greatly based on style, but that the experience of the creation of both of those contrasts greatly as well. For example, if you hire a documentary style photographer and an editorial style videographer, both the experience of being in front of the camera and the deliverable you receive at the end of the day will likely be very different.
The more vendors you hire, the more the day has the potential to feel like a production. For anyone who doesn’t like being in front of the camera - which let’s face it, is most of us - the more cameras you will be in front of and the more people will be directing you.
You save money. With hybrid photo/video you are likely going to spend half as you would on an additional service. This may make video a more accessible option for you if you weren’t considering it at all OR help you save money on something you were going to spend money on anyway. I hate to reduce it to a price point but, hey, I recognize that weddings can be a huge investment and that you want your money to go as far as it can without sacrificing quality or the preservation of your memories.
Why would you choose hybrid photo/video over hiring a separate vendor?
Clients choose to work with a hybrid photographer/videographer instead of hiring a separate service when they want fewer moving parts, one cohesive style for their photo-video story, and to save money without sacrificing quality.
When would you want to hire a separate vendor instead?
Clients might choose to hire a separate vendor if they want a more complicated or full length video of their small wedding/elopement or for more variety in types of services specific to videography.
Hiring your Bilingual Idaho Photographer/Videographer
As an Idaho wedding and elopement photographer/videographer, I value bringing couples a meaningful, thoughtfully crafted experience that celebrates the Idaho wilderness while telling their story through a blend of candid documentaryand gently prompted photography and videography. In my photography/videography, I seek to capture connection, witness and document life’s most important moments, and tell a story. As a photographer/videographer, I am greatly influenced by my experiences as a multifaceted human being and know that you are as well.
I was born and raised in Idaho and care deeply about protecting and celebrating the land and the community here. To me that means that I live by Leave No Trace practices to care for and protect the land and that I welcome and celebrate all forms of love. I want anyone who works with me to feel safe, cared for, and celebrated, regardless of where they come from or who they love. Additionally, I am bilingual and speak English and Spanish. I recognize the profound impact that the Latino community has had on Idaho, and I want all members of the bilingual and Spanish speaking community to feel welcome with me. These values impact every aspect of my work, and I am continuously seeking to grow so that I can better serve my community.
WHAT SERVICES I OFFER:
In addition to the values that guide my photography and videography, I have worked to bring clients wrap around services that don’t stop at taking their picture. This includes:
LOCATION SCOUTING AND GUIDANCE
I have spent the majority of my life in Idaho, exploring its mountains, lakes, and trails. This means I can offer a local perspective to many of the locations that we might venture together. More importantly, living in Idaho has taught me how to find the best trails, what gear you’ll want to bring, and when you’ll want to go. This is even more valuable because I can help you find the best location for you even if I have not yet been there myself.
ELOPEMENT PLANNING
In traditional weddings, many couples will hire a wedding planner to help coordinate and direct their day. In an elopement, the photographer also fills that role. I like to help my couples every step of the way, from finding the right location, to planning activities, to choosing vendors. It brings me so much joy to help you bring your dream elopement to life.
ORDAINED OFFICIANT SERVICES
To legally marry in Idaho, you’ll need an ordained officiant. For elopements, I can offer the service in both English and Spanish. You can check that off your list :)
VENDOR RECOMMENDATIONS
I love to be able to offer recommendations for other vendors who I know will serve their every need. If I have not worked with them myself, I will do the research to help make your life easier in choosing who will be working with you to craft your special celebration.
WHAT PACKAGES I OFFER
I offer wedding and elopement photography and videography packages ranging from half day and ceremony only to multi day experiences. Reach out to find out which package is right for you :)
