LGBTQ+ Idaho wedding and elopement Guide
Idaho is a gorgeous state and one that I’m grateful to call home. However, it is not always obvious what vendors and services are LGBTQ+ friendly - something that I am working to change. Being a valued based photographer who cares about increasing access and strengthening the community, I wanted to craft a guide specifically for the Idaho LGBTQ+ community that would help them navigate and plan the celebration of their love. Because ALL love deserves to be celebrated.
FAQs about planning an LGBTQ+ wedding or elopement
can you still get married as an LGBTQ+ couple in Idaho?
Yes. Despite recent policy changes on multiple fronts, the right to marriage equality remains in effect.
Are there LGBtq+ friendly wedding and elopement vendors in Idaho?
Yes there are! This guide has been compiled to make your life a little easier in finding them.
Idaho Lgbtq+ friendly locations and venues
TRICA - Boise, ID
TRICA management describes itself as, “a distinctive new event venue available a limited number of times throughout the year, located a block off Hyde Park in Boise. After a 15-year community fundraising effort to save this endangered historic treasure, proceeds go toward Children's Arts and to preserving the building for future generations.”
Pilgrim Cove Camp - McCall, ID
“Pilgrim Cove Camp is a beautiful venue for weddings, family gatherings, and retreats. Nestled on the shores of Payette Lake, it features cabins, lodges, and open spaces, offering the perfect setting to celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories in a peaceful, natural environment.”

“The JC White House offers couples a stunning outdoor venue steeped in local heritage and timeless elegance right in downtown Coeur d'Alene. Originally built in 1903 for prominent Coeur d’Alene businessman Joseph Clarence White, this beautifully preserved landmark provides a one-of-a-kind setting for weddings and celebrations.”
Snake River Meadow - Ririe, ID
“The Meadow venue got its start as a cowboy style dinner theater, which operated for decades. Today, it brings that history and rustic charm to weddings. It has a full kitchen and food prep area, three bathrooms and a main area for all the fun. Barn doors swing open to a large event patio and huge lawn.”
Sawtooth Botanical Garden - Ketchum, ID
The Sawtooth Botancial Garden will host weddings and other events and has historically hosted the Sun Valley Pride festival.
Idaho Lgbtq+ friendly photographers
Hey that’s me! As we have already established, I am an ally of the LGBTQ+ community and want to increase access to information and resources that will help the community plan a day that celebrates them. From the venue, to the caterer, to the clothing. I want every aspect of your day to celebrate who you are and your love. Please reach out if you’d like to work together. I can’t wait to meet you :)
Maggie Grace is a well respected photographer and has written several blog posts to increase access and information to LGBTQ+ friendly wedding vendors in Idaho. I have not personally worked with her but she was recommended to me by a wedding coordinator who is LGBTQ+ friendly (spoiler alert) Four Eyes Events.
IDAHO Lgbtq+ friendly coordinators and planners
Four Eyes Events - Sara and Emily Peyton are a sister pair who work out of Boise but have coordinated weddings and other events all over Idaho. I have had the pleasure of working with them at two weddings and have another one scheduled for 2026. They are very professional, kind, and fun coordinators who have a wealth of information on how to plan and organize an amazing wedding. You definitely want them on your team.
Idaho Lgbtq+ friendly florists
Flowers by LD - Pocatello, ID
I worked with Flowers by LD for a fall wedding and they did a beautiful job with not only the floral arrangements but also the confections! They were present for the whole event to make sure it went off without a hitch.
Two Hands Floral - Ketchum, ID
“At Two Hands Floral, we believe in the power of flowers to shape and tell your story. Wether it is through delicate hand-tied bouquets, extravagant hanging installations, or luxurious floral arrangements, our passion is to personalise your event with meticulous attention to detail.”
Bloom Theory - Ketchum, ID
“BLOOM theory IS A CREATIVE studio SPECIALIZING IN CURATED floral DESIGN FOR WEDDINGS AND EVENTS.” Review their portfolio to see the diverse range of weddings they have been involved in, including LGBTQ+ celebrations.
Idaho Lgbtq+ friendly caterers
Horsewood Catering - Nampa, ID
“Located in the lush farm and wine region of Idaho, Horsewood Catering features local ingredients, infused with global flavors. We are committed to our clients, our community, and our environment. That’s why sustainable practices and community support have been the cornerstone of our business since day one. Our event philosophy is to produce an event that all guests feel truly loved and will have a lasting impression on you, and your guests while leaving a light impact on our earth.” This catering service was also recommended by another LGBTQ+ friendly photographer, Maggie Grace (see information above.)
Idaho Lgbtq+ friendly officiants
Pauline Downey - Boise, ID
I worked with Pauline at a private elopement ceremony in McCall for a same-sex couple. Pauline did a lovely job and performed the ceremony with the utmost respect and dignity.
Julia Phelps Photography - That’s right! I am also a certified officiant and want to celebrate your love. I can officiate an elopement ceremony however I would recommend if you’re looking for an officiant for a wedding to book with another individual as I would not be able to both photograph and officiate your ceremony.
Chad Kanakkanatt - Boise, ID
I worked with Chad to photograph his wedding. One of the first questions he asked me on our consultation call before we starting working together was if I was LGBTQ+ friendly because that was a value to him and his partner. Chad is friendly and kind, you’ll be in good hands. Reach out via email at: chadkanakkanatt@gmail.com
I recognize that planning an LGBTQ+ friendly wedding or elopement in Idaho can be at the very least challenging but potentially a very scary experience. My goal is that this list provides you with some solace that the people involved with your wedding want to be there and support you 100%. That your day will be a safe place to celebrate your love. My commitment to you as your photographer is that I will be with you every step of the way, supporting you and celebrating you.
